Rating: - Perfect for cat allergies!
Bought this product because the reviews said it would help with my cat allergies! Sure enough, after only 24 hours I've stopped itching and sneezing and the kitty is sitting on my lab while I type this review!
On the highest setting, the lil bugger can be quite loud, but on the lower settings it's hardly noticeable. Comes with a timer feature, but because of my allergies I leave it on all the time!

Rating: - Wow it really does work well
Living in London again I was reminded of the dirty air, stinging eyes and sore nose but the last straw came when I went to clean my window sill and found it thick with London soot from the nearby Tube and car exhaust pollutant and other nasty particulates. An excellent air purifier, arrived a couple of hours ago and already my cat allergy has decreased and the air in the living room feels clean and fresh.
I recently acquired a rescue cat and didnt realise it would make me so ill, having not experienced this kind of allergic reaction to cats before. We've had one of these for years in the lounge. Just got two new cats that I'm more allergic too than the others. These work well and quickly e.g. my mum visited and started sneezing (we're an allergic bunch ;-) and within 5 minutes of putting it on she'd stopped - she was very impressed !
Getting another one for upstairs rooms. I've just tried three other ones and they are all far noisier. You'll never get a silent one but these are the best I've found - and I've spent a lot of time looking ! ... Read More

I've got 2 air purifiers, this one which I use in the bedroom and a larger Bionaire BAP422 for the lounge.
This machine is very quiet - on low setting, you can barely hear it at all, which makes it perfect for overnight use - and is cheap to run, about the same as a 40w bulb on low. On medium and high it sounds like your average table top fan. I find it cleans the air better when horizontal rather than vertical, although the manufacturers say you can use it both ways.
